  • Age related changes to the valves of the heart (Degenerative mitral valve disease)

  • Congenital (present at birth) heart defects
  • Diseases of the pericardium (sac surrounding the heart)
  • Cardiac tumours

The team at Vet Referrals will perform a complete physical examination on your pet. They will review your animal’s past history and current medications. Based on these findings they may proceed with one or more of the following tests:

  • Blood pressure evaluation
  • Radiography (x-rays) - of the chest and lungs
  • Echocardiography (sonogram) - ultrasound imaging of the heart
  • Electrocardiography (ECG) - electrical reading of the heart’s rhythm

Our goal is to improve the length and quality of life for animals with heart disease. We offer a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for animals with heart disease and heart failure.
